About the Position:
McKenzie School District is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated educator to serve as a Temporary Kindergarten Teacher beginning in January 2026. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging classroom environment where young learners feel supported, safe, and excited to learn.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction aligned with state standards and the Kindergarten curriculum.

• Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports students’ social, emotional, and academic growth.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that balance literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning, and play-based activities.

• Assess student progress and communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration.

• Collaborate with grade-level team members and support staff.

• Maintain classroom routines and expectations established by the regular teacher.

Qualifications:

• Valid Oregon teaching license (Early Childhood or Elementary Education).

• Prior teaching experience in early childhood or elementary setting preferred.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

• Familiarity with EasyCBM, Response to Intervention (RTI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

• Experience in a Title I school setting preferred.

Compensation:

• Salary range: $44,058 – $84,176, depending on experience.

• Salary will be pro-rated according to start date.
