JOB DECSCRIPTION: 

Provide a warm and caring environment for young children and their families for the McKenzie Little Eagles Childcare program. Childcare Teachers and Assistants will work together to implement a developmental curriculum for children ages 3 months to 6 years old. They will ensure the safety of the children and provide learning opportunities.

 

DUTIES include but are not limited to: planning age appropriate and engaging activities, keeping the environment clean, sanitary and orderly, supporting meal times, naps and bodily care and providing outdoor play time and supervision.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred: Applicants should hold a degree in or have completed coursework in Early Childhood Education, a similar program or experience. Applicants should also have the following skills:

• Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills.

• Must be organized and able to complete responsibilities in a timely manner.

• Have a valid Oregon driver’s license, current Infant CPR/First Aid card,
  valid Food Handlers Card, and upon hire complete other trainings required by the State of Oregon’s Early Learning Division.

• Experience working with youth ages 3 months-6 yrs. and their families.

• Must be enrolled or willing to enroll in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) professional development system.

• Must register with Oregon Central Background Registry

 

WORK SCHEDULE:The center is open Mon-Thurs. 7am-5pm. Hours will vary based on enrollment and can be flexible.

                              Must be available for trainings and in-service.

 

SALARY:Negotiable, depending on experience, grant guidelines and budgets (Salary range- $17-$24 per hour) Grant funded positions are not part of the districts Oregon School Employees Association Chapter No.74
